The USDA overnight revealed weekly data on the progress of US winter wheat plantings, for the 2027 harvest.
Investors had expected a 43% figure, according to a Reuters poll.
Comparable data a year ago are unavailable, because of US government closure from 1 October to 12 November 2025.
